Thoughts

The most valuable lessons in life cannot be taught, they must be experienced. When we reflect on our life, we will likely see some pain, mistakes, and heartache. But when we look in the mirror, we will see the strength, growth, and wisdom that made it all worthwhile.

January yoga and resolutions

Hi Ladies

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas break and new year. It's that time of year "when what's your  new years resolution" is often asked. I saw this article and it hits home with me, thought I would share it with you. Looking forward to seeing you all at yoga, I know I'm ready to get back to normal. I'm planning on a nice seated warm up with lots of twists to aid digestion ( if like me you have over indulged ) if I see another quality street I might burst ha ha. And a relaxed balancing flow to help focus our minds, finish up with relaxation of course.

See you soon namaste

Align your purpose with your faith and you will experience a power that can move mountains.

1. Focus on where you want to go. If you set goals and don’t believe you can meet them, you have already sabotaged yourself. Change has to be lasting and consistent. Know that your past has no bearing on what you can do in the present. You can accomplish anything you put your mind to.
2. Set goals that are fun to work towards. Your mind has to believe that it is a goal worth attaining. If your goals create pleasure and are fun, you are more likely to see them through. Don’t make resolutions that are so unrealistic you can’t follow through on them. As someone who used to subscribe to the no pain, no gain myth, I have often ended up feeling bad about myself when I haven’t been able to commit to my impossible demands. Overtraining stresses the adrenal glands and throws our physical, chemical and mental body out of whack.
3. Don't forget to stay balanced. If we don’t have balance we create imbalance. When your program is balanced, you will be consistent. Honour your true worth. It is worth scheduling time for practicing and for preparing healthy food into your day timer. You can’t take care of other people unless you take care of yourself first. You are responsible for your own change, not anyone else.
4. Believe it's possible. We may place blame on an outside circumstance if we can’t meet our own expectations. Ultimately, it is up to us to stand up for ourselves. We are worth it. You are worth it.
5. Practice gratitude
